Rebecca Friedrichs: Another Teacher Stands Up To The Education Mafia
“‘Teacher unions’ are not who they claim to be, and good teachers have been pummeled and misrepresented by them far too long.” – Friedrichs
Help needed to defend Sean Redmond and advance the voice of real teachers.
ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Sean Redmond, 34, who teaches in California’s Garden Grove Unified School District, is under threat of termination for refusing to lie to parents and for standing up with colleagues against a highly inappropriate and politically driven “Flower Power” assignment that forces teachers to ask students questions such as: “What is your gender identity?,” “What is your sexual orientation?,” “What is your religion?,” and “What are your pronouns?” Sample answers include: “pansexual, bisexual, homosexual, asexual, heterosexual,” and “atheist.”
Redmond and his colleagues – believing this assignment to be illegal and offensive – brought their concerns to school administration, but instead of receiving thanks and appropriate support, Redmond was put on administrative leave. “Administrative Leave” is the latest form of abuse good teachers suffer at the hands of union-controlled school administrators and school boards.
Rebecca Friedrichs, a veteran California public school educator and founder of For Kids & Country, had this to say about Redmon’s threatened termination:
“Once again, an excellent, caring teacher is paying a huge price for fighting to protect the innocence of his students, the authority of their parents, and the Constitutionally protected free speech rights of America’s teachers, while the union that claims to represent these teachers surreptitiously pushes the evil agenda the teachers loathe.
“It’s time Americans awaken to the fact that ‘teacher unions’ are not who they claim to be, and that good teachers have been pummeled and misrepresented by them far too long. Unions exploit teachers through their sinister, vicious, and malicious hegemony, so the most effective way to save our kids and country, is to stand with good teachers and against the so-called unions.”
Friedrichs invites the public to stand with Redmond in defense of childhood innocence and common sense at the Garden Grove USD school board meeting on Tuesday, July 18 at 7 p.m. in the district’s fifth-floor board room, 10331 Stanford Ave., Garden Grove, 92840.
