National Coming Out Day didn’t pass unnoticed in Los Angeles . Indeed, thanks to a union push, the school system “celebrated” for an entire week (Oct. 9-13), replete with “tests” for children to learn the nomenclature and beliefs behind unlimited gender choices and special guest transgender children whom we’re sure didn’t talk about health complications in their transitions.
Any child missing the point is able to check out oodles of content from gay and transgender advocacy groups. These materials are included in a school district-issued “ toolkit ” on whose cover is a black-power fist superimposed over the “pride” colors.
In a City Journal article about National Coming Out Day, author Heather Mac Donald notes the number of children “identifying” as transgender is rising exponentially, at a pace much more rapid than at any other time in history.
This is a social contagion , Mac Donald wrote, not a preexisting biological reality.
Speaking of reality, the country needs a reality check. A good place to start is the “teachers unions,” which are not organizations working for teachers. Instead of standing in solidarity with good teachers in their desire to educate children in academic knowledge, unions shove the transgender agenda (and a host of other objectionable doctrines) down the throats of America’s teachers and their innocent students.
Here’s the reality: Unions are intentionally eroding our once great educational system and sexualizing children. Unions exploit teachers, using them and their dues to gain power, influence, and wealth.
With this money, unions push all manner of depravity, including but not limited to National Coming Out Day and lurid sexual content, complete with illustration-filled workbooks. Unions have long championed anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and class warfare. Unions promote any idea advanced by the far-left wing of politics.
And that far-left political wing has demonstrated it will play nice with unions. In California, the legislature passed a law making it a crime for a teacher to answer honestly if parents ask about the transgender status of their children. Recently, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) signed a bill requiring all teachers to receive “cultural competency training” regarding LGBT students. Unions were behind this ambush on teachers, too.
And did you know that the Gay Straight Alliance clubs that have been popping up in America’s schools are funded and pushed by unions? Activist “teachers” are given big bucks to start those clubs, and they use them to manipulate children into embracing and even celebrating unlimited gender choices.
This is indoctrination imposed by a cabal of the farthest-left people in society. The nation’s actual educational mission — teaching children reading, math, history, science, and arts — is sadly a thing of the past, and it shows. In very few school districts in our entire country can half our children read or perform math at even the dumbed-down grade-level standards that exist today.
All of this damage to our children, just for a social contagion that appeals to a small fraction of our society.
Forcing a radical agenda down the throats of disempowered citizens is the true objective of so-called teachers unions, and it’s time we awakened to it and showed unions the door. Thanks to a Supreme Court ruling, teachers are no longer required to pay money to unions. But lots of teachers pay the money anyway, afraid of being stigmatized. Or some are afraid that if they don’t pay, their salaries or benefits will be reduced, and some even believe they won’t be able to get liability insurance. All of this is false, but the union narrative prevails.
Unfortunately, union schemes succeed all the time, which is why children are now bombarded with National Coming Out Day. And make no mistake, this transgender agenda pushed by unions is not what it claims to be. It’s not a program developed to support children with gender dysphoria to make them feel more accepted. Absolutely not. It’s a far-left, communist agenda developed precisely to grow the number of transgender children, undercut the family as the foundation of society, and give a wicked government full control over our children.
For most people, childhood is the only time in their lives that is magical. It’s a time for children to be whimsical, enjoy the great outdoors, play with schoolmates, pretend to be royalty or superheroes, bask in the love of family, and generally enjoy being children.
National Coming Out Day and the unions promoting it are taking all that away. We need a National Coming to Our Senses Day more than ever.
