Title: God Created Us Male And Female
Date: October 12, 2021
I came to the conclusion this morning, after wrestling with my thoughts, that this was the topic that the Lord would have me address this week. It is rather delicate, and I can easily be misunderstood as judgmental or perhaps even hateful, depending on the reader. However, it is in our children’s faces daily, and it is for that reason alone that I was led to For Kids & Country to begin with. I was willing to do anything to help protect the innocence of children, and in this case my ministry turned into prayer and a weekly blog post with For Kids and Country.
On to today’s Scripture:
Romans 1:24-28
Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie.
God’s word tells us there is nothing new under the sun, but the world is radically insisting on seemingly unprecedented ways. All sorts of lifestyles command acceptance and tolerance, at the same time rejecting that which the Lord himself created….men and women. Some in our world are trying to reinvent mankind. It is an attempt to be their own gods, and how it grieves my heart to see so many young people fall into this deceptive trap!
I wasn’t looking to address this today; however, I have been feeling the need lately to pray over the future of my own grandchildren against this evil force that is destroying so many young lives and dividing families. The culture and the schools our children attend demand we conform and consent to every diverse lifestyle. It’s sadly so evident that people are desperately needing to validate the way they live and to force others to agree. It’s been said, “When you know the truth, you can securely sit down on the inside. You don’t have to argue or fight for it.” Unfortunately, so many fight so hard outwardly and struggle inwardly within themselves to camouflage what they know to be true. They know the difference between right and wrong, yet fight against it.
Some pastors and churches are also redefining truth. They are completely avoiding the teachings that were written in God’s word for the sake of staying current with the times. They stay clear of certain doctrine to remain politically correct, all along hurting their congregation, leaving them wide open to Satan’s deceptions. As I debated whether or not to address this issue, I came upon the following verse. What’s really interesting to me is that I’m not sure I have ever read it before. Once my eyes fell upon it I realized His perfect timing in showing me this:
Deuteronomy 22:5
A woman shall not wear a man’s clothing, nor shall a man put on women’s clothing. For whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.
I believe we all know someone who has fallen prey to this lie: “I just want to be happy! If there is a God, doesn’t He want me happy?” And in part that is very true, however happiness cannot be truly attained if the laws of God are broken and disregarded. How do we communicate that to someone who doesn’t even believe there is a God who masterfully created this world and mankind? Many individuals do not recognize they need any saving from their lifestyle at all. Some do not have any standards but their own. So how do we get through? There is only one answer: the Gospel! However, we ourselves must firmly believe that they are not merely empty words, but have the undeniable power to change a mind and to save a soul!
Looking back through the years I now recognize the missed opportunities that God placed in my path to share His word. About 15 years ago there was a particular young man I met during a short-term job I had. I took to him right away. He was so kind, genuine and sensitive. He also had a great sense of humor, and yet there was a distant sadness in his eyes. He was a lost young man, drowning himself in alcohol and his homosexual lifestyle. I would casually talk to him about God and prayer, and he would just smile! However, I never fully engaged in a serious conversation about his choices! I have so often since regretted that.
I never did see this young man again…. until the Lord decided to put him in my path, not once but twice more, many years later. Each time I knew that it was a divine appointment straight from heaven, and each time I lost my courage to address what I knew I was supposed to talk with him about. I think that’s the mistake that led to my fears…I was afraid of his reaction. It wasn’t my place to point out his sin, but I now believe it was my place to point him to God, the ultimate healer of all sin, including mine!
If we stand on God’s word we can be as bold as lions. Who knows….since I failed God’s test three times, maybe that young man I met years ago will be placed in my life once again. Until then I have been thinking of and praying for him. Hopefully the Lord placed a more willing party in his life to point him the right way. I pray he is living a life set free of strongholds, and I vow to not miss any more opportunities like this one. Lord please allow my love to be more evident than my disapproval. Lord please give me new opportunities to share your amazing word!
Hosea 8:7
For they sow the wind and they reap the whirlwind.
Galatians 6:7-9
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
This following verse is very profound. If one continues to think or speak the words, “I am gay” or any words for that matter…“I’m not worthy”…or “I’m a failure”… “My life is meaningless. I have no value!” This is how powerful the Bible says our thoughts are:
Proverbs 23:7
For as he thinks within himself, so he is.
This should encourage all of us to keep a proper, godly perspective of ourselves!
If only people would realize that God doesn’t look to punish. In most cases sin is its own punishment. I recently read these sweet words from a man who was describing God to someone who had no clear understanding of how much the Lord loved him:
“God is our creator. We are created in His image and likeness. We are the pinnacle of all the created order, the greatest of all His activities. Each of us is fearfully and wonderfully made. We were meant to be like Him. We’re His kids.”
And He is our dad! We are created to be like Him. And God is taking issue with the things that are asserting themselves against that; that is, what ungodliness and the unrighteousness of man are doing today.
I love this! Let us keep this in mind and not fall into despair. For God’s wrath will come to set things right! Praise God! Keep praying, keep sharing God’s powerful word! And may we see souls set free, and on track to live eternally in the presence of a God who created them perfectly just the way they are, and who one day will be presented to our loving Daddy as white as snow! Amen!
Delighting in safe pasture,
Linda
